       HISTORY OF INSTITUTION MANAGEMENT STUDIES DEPARTMENT      

      PROGRESS              

The food and beverage section was started in January 2004 with the first Craft Certificate students enrolling in January the same year. This is when the name of the department was changed from Clothing and Textile technology department to Institutional Management Studies. The number of teachers was increased from 3 to 7 teachers, 4were TSC teachers’ ands’ 3 BOG teachers.

With the introduction of TVET module the Clothing and Textile Certificate Course was changed to Fashion Design and Garment Making while Diploma was changed to Fashion Design and Clothing Technology. Food and beverage Production and Sales remained the same.

The department as since grown to a population of 700 students, 21trainers, 9 PSC formally TSC employees and 12 BOM staff and 2 technicians for food and beverage section.

Our courses are skill oriented market driven and very competitive. These courses are offered at Artisan, Craft Certificate and Diploma levels. We also offer short basic skill courses.
