Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)
AgriPlant Enterprises Limited, Thintech Limited, Fie Labs Innovation Hub, the Agricultural Technology and Development Center, and Arm Shield International Peace Champions have partnered with Kisii National Polytechnic during the Tunisian Startups Mission to Kenya event held on 8th at Kofisi Riverside Drive, Nairobi to form a new Quintuple Helix partnership that is expected to spur innovation, product development, entrepreneurship, and opportunity in Southern Nyanza and Kenya at large. The recently inked Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are not just superficial. It is the start of a collaboration aimed at creating a more robust and inclusive innovation ecosystem that addresses the social and economic issues facing the country and the region. The collaboration focuses on a number of important areas that could revolutionize innovation, technology transfer, and the commercialization of research outputs. Offering training in innovation and entrepreneurship to the future generation is one of the main goals. The training will be based on internationally renowned concepts like lean startup approaches, digital skills development, and design thinking. Young people will be empowered by these realistic, hands-on methods to think creatively, test concepts fast, and create long-lasting solutions that have a genuine influence on the community.
The agreements emphasize research and thought leadership in addition to training. Both institutions hope to contribute to evidence-based methods that can impact policy and direct local development efforts by collaborating on studies and projects pertaining to priority areas. The objective is to make sure that innovation involves more than just developing new technologies; it also entails bringing about significant change where it is most needed.
The partnership's pan-African perspective is another crucial element. The partnership will help women and youth around the continent by giving them access to resources, mentorship, and networks that are frequently unavailable to them through cross-border incubation and exchange programs. Emerging business owners will benefit from these programs' exposure to a variety of markets and viewpoints.
